2. MWANZA In what sounds like a strong advocacy event, screening in Mwanza was successful! This was reported by Dr. Janmohamend from Mwanza.
"I think the credit goes to the whole NESOT team and to all Tanzanians who have in one way or the other, supported us!!
In two days a total of 1200 individuals were screened.
In Mwanza, Dr Fatma and Dr Bahati have played a pivotal role in organising the screening, its been extremely busy, at the end of the day, everybody is very tired yet smiling and satisfied, its a great feeling to successfully do something tangible for our community. I feel, thats the true essence of the World Kidney Day!!"

3. KILIMANJARO
Today is World Kidney Day. The wonderful residents at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre held an event in downtown Moshi. Free blood pressure, blood sugar, urine protein screening and education. Gotta know your kidney health. It was a great turn out. So proud of them. Chronic kidney disease will kill thousands of people in sub-Saharan Africa in the next 2 decades due to rising diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
Gratitude goes to Dr. Akrabi Hudaa, Dr. John Stanifer and Prof Karen Yeates for organizing this Moshi event.
